- Board members want to be part of a VIP day to enhance there knowledge of our training and equipment.
- Board approved budget for 3 firefighter positions. Levy will have to be raised for this and budget will be lean in coming years.
Budgets:
- Final budgets due on Friday March 14, 2008
- Apparatus, nothing new from the five year plan, new shelf in E41 engineers bin.
- Wildland, PPE and tools are a definite.
- EMS, go ahead on necessities
- Equipment, Cascade bottles and fittings for 4500 got the go ahead.
- Communications, buying 6 kenwoods, granted 6BKs, and a mobile BK.
- PPE, still waiting on turnouts from United Fire, SCBAs will all have masks, all full time regular employees will also have own masks.
- Fuels, big ticket is a $15,000 chipper, grant funds so it is okay to buy.
State Forester and Todd will be meeting with legislature to have grant funds be a 75/25 matching to help our budget function. See email from Todd, We want to do all of the work in order to remove Groom Creek from the “at risk” list.
Arizona Wildfire Academy is coming up next week, all captains should have coverage before then.
Carbon Monoxide is being measured on all people at station 41, 4 times a day to track levels.
Shifts:
- Priorities for shifts are, 1 turnover, 2 all daily apparatus checks, 3 daily duties, 4 PT, then all of the other needs. If one fails to complete the daily duties that day they are transferred to the next shift.
- Dress code is, blue shirt, nomex pants, 8 in leather boots, etc. from 8-8 and in the morning before leaving shift from 7-8.
- All persons should be awake and ready in uniform no later than 7am. Not 7:01 etc.
- Computer use for Groom Creek only, lots of downloads are clogging the computers with unnecessary junk.
SOPs:
Command rig will have a new SOP for “official use only”
