Groom Creek Fire District – Prescott, Arizona

On April 2nd and 3rd we will be conducting our annual physical agility assessment, also known as “The Pack Test”, for all Groom Creek Fire District personnel. This assessment is a requirement for all participating members regardless of organizational position(volunteer, reserve, or full-time). We will meet at Granite Creek Park on Sixth Street, behind the Albertsons in Prescott, at 0800 and the test will begin at 0815 sharp.

Requirements for the assessment are to complete the 3.5 mile course with a backpack loaded with 45lbs. ,within the 45 minute time limit. Any attire appropriate for athletic, physically demanding activities is acceptable. Wildland PPE (boots, Nomex, etc.) are not required for this test.

Drill attendance on 3/16/10 will be voluntary for those who are attending the AWIMA so that you can attend the functions associated with the academy. If you are not attending the academy, please be here for the best drill of the year.

On March 26th & 27th the the Prescott Basin Ops Group will be hosting a refresher training drill at Pioneer Park for any personnel seeking to maintain their wildland firefighter qualifcations. The drill is designed to satisfy all of the NWCG required standards, develop leadership, and improve teamwork amongst all participating agencies.
